How to Transfer Airtime in Airtel: Code & MyAirtel App

The Airtel ME2U feature allows subscribers to transfer airtime within themselves. This feature allows Airtel subscribers to transfer airtime from one Airtel line to another. If you are an Airtel user, you can easily transfer airtime from your line to your family or friends who are using the Airtel network. 

Transferring airtime on Airtel is not difficult since there are different methods to do that. Airtel subscribers can transfer Airtime to another user through the use of a code or the MyAirtel app. Although these methods are pretty easy to use and the code works on both smartphones and non-smartphones, the MyAirtel app is only suitable for subscribers who have internet-enabled phones. 

PIN for Airtel Airtime Transfer

Before you can successfully transfer airtime on Airtel, you will need to authorise your transaction by inputting your PIN. Although Airtel has a default transfer PIN, 1234, it is advisable for Airtel subscribers to change their default PIN before carrying out transactions because of security reasons. So, before we proceed with the main discussion, let me quickly show you how you can change your Airtel default PIN to your own unique and special PIN. If you want to change your Airtel airtime transfer PIN, do this:

• Locate your phone dialler 
• Input  *321# on it
• Choose  “PIN management,” which is option 3
• Once you select it, follow the prompt succinctly, and you will be able to change your airtime transfer PIN.

Now that you have changed your Airtel airtime transfer PIN, you can transfer airtime from your Airtel line to another.

How to Transfer Airtime for Airtel

There are two common methods that you can use to transfer airtime on Airtel. They are through the use of code and the Airtel mobile app. These methods are effective and simple to use. We are going to show you how to use these methods. Keep tabs!

How to Transfer Airtime on Airtel via Code

The code that you can use to transfer airtime on Airtel is *321#. Follow the steps below to use this code to transfer airtime to your family and friends who are using the Airtel network. 

• On your phone dialler, input the code, *321#
• Dial the code on your Airtel line
• Choose option 1 “Airtel to Airtel” from the dropdown list
• Select ‘’Airtime Transfer’’ option
• Input the number of the recipient that you want to share the airtime with
• Enter the exact amount that you want transfer, i.e., from ₦50 to ₦10,000
• Authorise the transfer by entering your transaction PIN.
• Once the transfer is complete, you will receive a confirmation SMS from Airtel on the status of your transfer. 

How to Transfer Airtime on Airtel via App

You can also transfer airtime from one Airtel line to another using a mobile app. MyAirtel app allows subscribers to transfer airtime through the ME2U features. However, before you can use an app to transfer airtime on Airtel, you must have an internet-enabled phone. If you have a smartphone, follow the steps below to use the MyAirtel app to transfer airtime:

• Go to the Apple App Store or Google Play Store to download MyAirtel app for iOS and Android users, respectively.
• Create an account using your Airtel number and other necessary details. Skip this method if you already have an account
• Login to the app using your details 
• On your dashboard, locate the “Quick Actions” section and tap on the “View All” option.
• Look at the bottom of the options displayed and choose “ME2U-Share Airtime.”
• Input the Airtel number of the recipient 
• Enter the amount of airtime you want to transfer
• Review the recipient’s details; if they are correct, confirm the airtime transfer by inputting your PIN in the space provided. That’s all.

How to Transfer Airtime on Airtel to Airtel

You can transfer airtime from one Airtel line to another through code *321# or by the use of the MyAirtel app. If you want to use a code, all you need to do is dial it on your Airtel line, choose the airtime transfer option, input the recipient number and amount, and then authorise the transaction by inputting your PIN. On the other hand, if you want to transfer the airtime using the app, you will need to download the app from the official app store, create an account, and use the ME2U feature to enter the recipient details and airtime amount you want to transfer. Finally, you can authorise the transaction by inputting your Airtel transaction PIN. 

How to Transfer Airtime in Airtel to MTN

Currently, it is not possible to transfer airtime from Airtel to MTN. This means that there is no available method that you can use to transfer airtime from the Airtel network to MTN. You can only transfer airtime from one Airtel line to another and from one MTN line to another too. 

How to Transfer Airtime in Airtel to Another Network

You cannot transfer airtime from Airtel to another network. You can only transfer airtime from Airtel to Airtel and not from Airtel to another network. So, it is not possible to transfer airtime from Airtel to another network.
